Boost Your Hydration with a Persimmon Switchel

Introducing the Persimmon Switchel! Also known as "Haymaker's Punch," Switchels have been hydrating hard workers since the 17th century. By the 19th century, this traditional drink was a farmer's best friend during hay harvests, hence the nickname. Our modern twist on this immune-boosting, electrolyte-replenishing beverage features our Naturally-Fermented Persimmon Vinegar, which supports heart, liver, skin, and digestive health. Switchels are also perfect for batching and keeping in the fridge for a refreshing, healthy drink anytime!

Ingredients:

Serving size: roughly 2 mocktails.

  • 1¾ cup of sparkling water

  • 3 tbsp Persimmon Vinegar

  • 1 tsp of persimmon purée

  • 1 tbsp pure maple syrup (or to taste)

  • 2 tsps grated ginger

  • 1/4 tsp of cinnamon

  • 1 pinch of salt

  • Pomegranate seeds to garnish

Directions:

  • Mix all ingredients in a pitcher.

  • Optional: add your favorite spirit to make it into a cocktail. We recommend a splash of Persimmon Brandy from our friends at Ventura Spirits.
